Forum Overview
NewNet's inaugural Clean Energy LP-GP Forum U.S. in New York on 22nd March 2011 was a great success, bringing together 50 Limited Partners with 50 General Partners committing capital to the cleantech, renewable energy and environmental technology sectors.
The exclusive, invitation-only Clean Energy LP-GP Forum U.S. - hosted by NewNet, in association with AltAssets - was held with the support of ILPA (Institutional Limited Partners Association).
The day saw a great selection of speakers share their views on the upcoming trends and opportunities in the sector, with both institutional investors and GPs optimistic about its future growth.
Each year the Clean Energy LP-GP Forum Europe is oversubscribed and the Clean Energy LP-GP Forum U.S. was no different, and brought together the very best private equity and venture capital fund managers from the U.S., together with institutional investors who are considering, or are already committed to, investing in the green sector.
The most exclusive networking event in the private equity & venture capital calendar
The Forum enabled attendees to identify new investment areas and establish lasting business relationships. It is the perfect opportunity for GPs to meet and establish relationships with the most relevant LPs and corporate investors.
In addition, it allowed LPs to identify potential GPs to track, build relationships with or invest alongside, enhancing their understanding of the key trends, developments and investment opportunities.
Who attended
- Generalist GPs wwho make investments in the business services, technology and industrial sectors.
- Specialist GPs who invest in clean technology, renewable energy and environmental services.

The Clean Energy LP-GP Forums have very strong support from the LP community. Indeed, the structure and content of the events, as well as the balance of attendees, is determined in consultation with an advisory board of leading LPs. This input helps to create an intensive and productive day, during which LPs get to meet the best fund managers in the sector, interact with respected peers and discuss the most important issues that matter to them.
